Kc Area Bass Resource Fall Meet Up

Featured Replies

I believe right now we have 2 boaters without a nonboater if they both can make it so I can keep you posted if you want to try to make it.

Yeah! That would be awesome. Thanks.

It was a blast. Caught a ton of fish. Pretty much couldn't put the spook down all day. Caught a few on a jig, but it was practically every other cast on the spook so I kept serving up what they wanted

It's true but Who would want to go there? The resturant at BPS has a private room and it's never busy?

Change of plans for me. Since we lost our babysitter, my wife has been on a "makeshift" work schedule to work around us not having a sitter. Now, someone has moved on at the hospital and my wife is taking over the shift. She has to work BOTH days of the meet. So overnight for me is out. But I am going to try my best to come for 1 of the days. Probably Saturday. Ill just have to bring my 2 boys. Xander you all have met. But Ill also bring my ASD son, Cameron. (ASD =Autism Spectrum Disorder)

He will probably just sit and chill with his dinosaurs or something while Xander and I fish.

I am officially out for this, both days.  d**n continuing education is scheduled the same weekend as this!

I'm in for Wilson, but I can only fish on Saturday

This is the lake.

and these stats are why we're going there. Only lake in the state rated excellent for both largemouths and spots :). The black numbers were the biggest of each species sampled, the state record spot is 4.44 to get an idea of how big a 3 3/4 pound spotted bass is.

largemouth bass

WILSON STATE FISHING LAKE 52.69 25.75 3.59 5.38 E 55.17

spotted bass

WILSON STATE FISHING LAKE 32.34 11.98 1.20 3.75 E 34.92

Toronto isn't far away and is supposed to be a great lake for monster crappie and white bass, like 2+ pound crappie and 3+ pound whites. Could always hop over there after the tournament :)

Clayton said that he was gonna see if Raymond from Mondo's wanted to go.

Sure gonna miss the old farts.

For those that couldn't make it, we caught a ton of fish at Wilson. Raymond from Mondo showed up and we were gracious enough hosts to let him win the tournament  :eyebrows: . They had 13 and some change with big bass of 4.03 pounds. Chris and I had second with just shy of 11 pounds. We caught a boatload of fish, just could not find a big one to save our lives. We caught fish on almost everything except what worked for Raymond and his partner, topwater and a jig. I caught most of mine on a bladed jig, spinnerbait, and a wacky rig. Chris even threw a couple different 6 inch swimbaits, which caught 2 of our keepers, but still never got a big fish. I did have a porker spot that we weighed in though.

Chris and I stayed Sunday and went to Cedar Valley, but I'll post about that on the KC thread.

It was a good time. I think me and Xan finish last every year! Maybe he should get a better partner!

It was fun . Cameron caught some fish on his Cars Rod with a Ned tied on. I got 3 keepers in the first 30 yard stretch, just couldn't bag anymore, or upgrade. I should have took a nap like he did under the console.
