Seaguar Invisx Vs Red Label

Featured Replies

I have been using seaguar invisx for a couple years now and I really like the line except for the amount of stretch it has. I just bought a new jig rod and would like to respool my reel with about 15lb flourocarbon ( I have another reel with braid to throw on the rod when needed). Does red label still cast good with less stretch or is it stretch the same? And any thoughts on abrazx as well?

I have Red Label on one jig and worm rod, and Abrazx on the other. Now here is the kicker, I use them both and couldn't tell you which has which.

Have you ever used invizx? If so how does the stretch compare? And if not does the two you do use have any noticeable stretch?

I have InvizX on most of my rods including my jig rod in 15lbs test and have never had a problem with stretch in my line.

red line has a lot less stretch than invisX. you'll  be fine

Ive never used a fluoro with more stretch than invisx.

Red Label is darn good. I used to fish mono because it was so manageable and soft, and because I'd had a bad experience with SpiderWire fluorocarbon. Taking the advice of some on here, I picked up some Red Label in 10# and I've stuck with this line ever since. Never had a knot fail, and I've never had any break offs as I'm diligent with checking my line for knicks or kinks. Treat it with some KVD Line and Lure, and it's even better. I have not notice any stretch myself, and I do a lot of deep cranking with 6XDs. Academy might still have it for $9.99, so if they do and you have a BPS in your town, pull up the price on your phone at BPS and they will price match it. I just bought 2 more spools a couple days ago this way.

Red label was breaking on my spool like crazy as main line #12, but is ok as leader material. I have invisx and its been good so far, no breaking issues.

i've never thought of fluoro as having stretch.  now mono has stretch! but compare fluoro mainline to braid main line as yes it has stretch.  switch to braid w/ fluoro leader.  (i've used both invisx and red label and think they are virtually identical except for the price/packaging). i'd bet most anglers couldn't tell the difference in a blind fold test (and even fewer with a braid to fluror leader).  remember the pepsi challenge!?

I've tried red label in 6 and 8 for spinning rods. It managed well, I didnt think there was a lot of stretch, but the abrasion resistance stunk. Every time I hit a dock post, twig, or anything else I'd have to re-tie 5-6 feet of line. I think I got 3 days of hard fishing out of it before I had to respool, wasnt enough line left to cast.

Well I've always used invizx but think I'm going to give red label a shot on my jig rod. Do you guys prefer 15 or 20 pound test?

I use 12 or 15 on mine.

15 or 20# should be fine. Lighter cover go 15.

What about eliminating braid? Is it really possible with 25# flourocarbon? Or am I just going to be breaking off in heavy cover?

Red label has less stretch out of the 2 from what I can notice. I have a few rods with fluoro on them and they are all red label. If your punching grass mats I would stick to braid. Rocks, docks, wood, and light to moderate amounts of grass fluoro is fine but for the thick stuff you would be better off with braid IMO.

I have 20# Red Label and 20# Tatsu and I can't tell a diferance for fishing a heavy Jig.
