Going To Icast 2014 For First Time Any Tips?

Featured Replies

going to iCast 2014 next week for my first time as a buyer , any tips from anyone who has been before?

I'd consider messaging Glenn, Bobby Uhrig, specific people that go every year. Most people on this forum are simpletons like me and don't work in the industry (but would LOVE TO). I would think that this thread would get bombarded with people saying things like, "tell me how those Duckett reels feel" or "tell us what's new from River2Sea"!

Enjoy the show, for you're the *** of everyone on this forum!

Stop by and say hi to Bobby at his MegaStrike booth and Big O at Strike King.

You might run into Glenn, but he will be busy visiting everyone else. I don't know

if we have other sponsors attending, but I'm sure they will post when they see this

thread.

Ok seriously -here it is in a nutshell. You will be star stuck-I kid in a candy store-You will go broke your first hour there-You will cry like a baby when its over. Your feet will hurt

Take plenty of pictures and post them here ASAP so that the rest of us can drool over the new items!!

I will be there as an exhibitor. Can't wait!

Bobby, I'll be just down the aisle from you ;)

I recently got to attend a show like this.  The ATA show.  It is the archery/hunting show that is like the Icast.  If it is like that, you will be walking around with your mouth gaping open.  I saw alot of my hunting heroes and got alot of free stuff.  Stickers, key chains, hats, etc.  Have fun and take your time.  I found that most or all of the celebrities were cool and loved getting their picture with fans.  I would love to do an Icast show.  Your a lucky dog!

I'm with STORMR. We've met at a few of the consumer shows this winter. Did real well on those Megashads....

This will be my second ICAST show.  It is a great experience.  Make sure to get a map and try to work the area in a somewhat methodical manner.  If you don't have a plan, it's easy to just stumble around, rubber necking at all the cool stuff and spin around in circles walking through the awesome Strike King exhibit 42 times a day (I just described my first day there).   Wear comfortable shoes.   There are some great free instructional seminars that they give, mostly related to the business side of fishing.  You'll want to look at the brochure on your way in and sign up early for the classes that interest you.  Make a point of it to try and seek out Bobby (Megastrike), Big O (Rage Tail), and Glenn.  All great guys, that gave Robert and I some fantastic advice that have helped our business.

A number of years ago I had an invite to go and it was awesome.  The time went way to fast.  Good memories.....enjoy

1st time for me also, and also as a buyer.  I've found the iPhone app to be pretty helpful in my planning.
