I was wondering what a lot of you use/suggest for an ultralight setup. I am thinking of something in the 4-6# ballpark. I have been reading a lot about different lines here on the forum, but didn't know if a lighter line made a difference between brands. Most of the places I will be fishing with this setup are not rocky, and it will obviously be used in light/open cover.  The line will go on a Lexa 2500 on a Lamiglas Excel II 712.

 

Previously, on my regular non-braid setups, I have used a lot of P-line Floroclear 12#.  I would like to venture into 100% Fluoro.  Tatsu sounds fantastic, but may be a little too expensive for my taste.  I am thinking Seaguar Invizx may be my best play, but was curious as to what you guys suggest.

I use a Stradic 1000 with 10# Sufix 832, I believe this is their lightest in the 832 lineup, but would not want any thinner if it wasn't, I usually use 2-4 foot of Seaguar Abrazx 4# joined with an improved blood knot. I will go to 6# Abrazx if I am targeting fish on the edge of weeds that could get me in to the weeds. I use the same size reel and line on my MLF and MXF finesse rods, I just go to 6# or 8# on those for Walleye and Smallmouth Bass.

My ultralight used 4# mono, Stren or Trilene XL.

I've used 4# stren magnathin /w really good results. 

10lb sufix or power pro with 4lb copoly leader for me.

With braid, I have 3# Power Pro micro line on most of my outfits. For fluorocarbon, my favorite is 5# TORAY finesse, though I've also been using 6# Stren 100% fluoro recently and have been pleasantly surprised by its performance.

I use 6lb pline c21, if there wasn't toothy critters around I'd drop back to 4lb, wife really likes the seaguar senshi 4lb
