Best All-Around Lure For All Species Of Bass?

Featured Replies

Hey all,

In august, I am going on road trip out west from pittsburgh, im going to come across many streams, ponds, and creeks that i will attempt to fish and im looking for the right lure that will catch LMB, SMB, spotted bass, redeye bass and all of the types of bass. Something medium sized maybe? Looking for input

Thanks

Original rapala floating in either gold or silver.

I'd say Senkos (or knockoffs) in 3", 4", 5" sizes.

Yes.

Senkos and gold rattlers have always been staples for me as well.  Spooks have also been pretty reliable.

Worms of various sizes catch just about anything listed

Jigs. There are so many varieties that one of them will catch almost any kind of fish.

Either a 4in Stick bait or a 1/4oz ball head jig /w a 3" twister tail trub or minnow style body. Pretty much will catch fish anywhere in the country big and small

Lipless crank or senko.

If you can find a way to catch a bass on a Senko there's either no bass there or you need to take up golf.

Or you could take up golf to fish the ponds.

Or you could take up golf to fish the ponds.

If they'd let us do that around here I might be a lot more interested in golfing. It's a cardinal sin to try to fish a golf course pond around here it seems.

Hehe I caught a 22 incher last evening at my favorite golf course pond

For the versatility, portability, and fishability you are talking about, in August, my vote is for a finesse jig w/ some small crawfish style trailers.

A 3"-4" stick bait or tube would be the other option for me.

I'd say Senkos (or knockoffs) in 3", 4", 5" sizes.

X4  even though I rarely use them anymore.
