Is "buy One, Get One Free" A Good Deal On Power Pro?

Featured Replies

Title says it all. Dick's Sporting goods by my house has Power Pro for BOGO. I don't use braid and I currently don't have anywhere to add it to my setups, but I feel like this is a good deal. They also have Suffix 832 for the same deal. Price is $31 for either.

Thanks!

31$ for 2 spools? No not a great deal. If it was PP super slick 31$ for 2 spools would save you alittle.

At academy here original power pro is 15$ a spool and power pro super slick is 20$

OK, thanks. Braid is not my forte, so I'm glad I asked. Thanks again!

At that price of $31 for two spools....that is regular price for two spools of 50lb PP here.......

I think I may need to clarify since after looking, I realized that there are two spool sizes that look identical to me. This is the price for a 300 yard spool. I'm not sure if that makes a difference, but Tackle Warehouse has them listed at 34.99 vs the 150 yard at 19.99.

If were talking 300 yard spools then yes that is a good deal... I would jump on that

Yes definitely a great deal if they are in fact 300 yard spools. There is always much debate over which braid is "best" on numerous forums not just this one and the one constant you'll find in all these debates is PP. I'm not saying it's the best, all I'm saying is that it's a very good line, especially at that price.

I would go for that and I don't use braid much either!  I wish I could find that deal here somewhere!

$31 for 2 -300 yard spool is a great deal.

^^ what he said, I wonder if the dicks near me is running a similar deal.

Better than their online price which is 20% off any Prowler Pro braid

This way my exact thought as I just ordered 3 three hundred yard spools earlier today! Although I did get the White which I never see in the stores so I would've probably still had to go this route. As a matter of fact the guy I was ordering from told me those would come directly from PP and would take 2 weeks to get here. He said that was the only color they didn't have in stock, (I ordered by phone obviously) which I thought was weird since they were advertising it as if it were in stock. It's no big deal I wasn't in a hurry to get it anyway I just ordered it because at the time it seemed like a good deal until this was posted.

OK, glad I clarified. I will be picking some up. They are still doing the clearance by me and there is lots of line left on the clearance rack. They also had the 20% off stuff, but that didn't seem to be as good of a deal. Thanks everyone!

At the DSG I go to the normal PP price is $24.95 for a 300 yd spool.  2 for $31 is a real good deal.

I am not a big fan of braid  but it has it's place and Power Pro is great line.  The price you quoted is a great deal but I would ask the guys working there how much it costs to fill your reels with the house line they keep.  My local DSG has 3000 yard spools of PowerPro that they will fill my reels with for (depends on who is working) for free if I bought the reel there, $2.49 or $4.99 (I think this is the price it is supposed to be).  If you do the math, at the most it would cost me $10 to fill 2 baitcasters with 30lb test which is a little less than 300 yards.  Since very few people take advantage of this at DSG I go to, it may be quite some time before they run out.   :respect-059:

I just paid 21$ for 100 yards of 5 lb power pro. ;(
