Tournament 8

My observations after fishing the line for a few months are these:

Tournament 8 is uniformly round and smooth. I have not seen any wear or

fraying. I fish this 30# braid with a Tatsu 20 lb leader and Alberto Knot. Some

will argue that all lines have a little stretch, but I can't detect ANY. In general

use the line does not dig into the spool, but there is a little of that when you

are using your gear to remove tree stumps from the bottom of the river!

I do not know the actual breaking strength, but the tensile strength is stout.

I have had no issues with heavy lures, fish, rocks or wood. I have had no

issues with wrapping or wind knots, but I still would expect some from time

to time in stronger wind.

I will fish this line this weekend and update the post. If anyone has a specific

question please ask and I will try to respond.

As I stated before, I thought it was already available, and was simply asking if anyone had tried it yet.

My apologies if my post confused people into thinking it was a review.  I assure you, it was not.  Had I wanted to post a review, I would have.  But I wanted to know who else had tried it and whether or not they liked it.

Hope that clears everything up.

It's all good Glenn, I was looking at the hevi-core for my t-rig and jig applications as soon as I can find it I'm gonna spool up some

TUF-Line Tournament 8 braid: have you tried it yet?  The line casts and handles effortlessly. Smooth, strong, castable - everything you need in a braid without the high price!

When you say without the high price, what braid are you comparing it to?

150 yd spool will retail for around $20-$25.  While not cheaper than competing brands as I first stated (my mistake - I misunderstood the information I had - shoot me), it's on par with the competition.  The $50 quote was for a 300 yd spool - about the same as other braids.

Guys - I've been a Power-Pro and Suffix fan for years, and this line has me thinking about switching.

It is for sale now on Amazon if anyone is interested.

Yep, $37 - $40 per 300 yd. spool. Apparently, retail prices have been greatly exaggerated in this thread.
