Will never see water

Featured Replies

This bait may never get wet but I just had to show it off. Our local Cancer Society has a holiday auction each year and this will be my donation to this years auction.

5" Musky crankbait, stailness steel hardware, square Lexan lip, hand painted with a 4 coat epoxy top-coat. It will be in a wooden presentation box.

that is what I am talking about!!!!!!  That would make for an AMAZING display piece!!!

I had a hand painter of lures offer to paint me a crankbait like that but he never came thru for me.. oh well... I am glad to see someone is going to get a chance at a patriotic work of art

Beautiful job John,

I've framed the two crank baits I've recieved from you in a shadow box. Hung them in my den. I will be airbrushing my first baits this weekend. I'll post some pictures soon. It's great to have such a talented gentlemen on this site. Gives all of us beginners someone to emulate. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.

thomas :)

whittler, that's beautiful.

:)

Nice work.

Whittler,

Did you airbrush the epoxy?

thomas

Thank you gentelmen for your comments on my bait.

BA13, no I did not paint the stars, they were punched out of white plastic tape with a star shaped punch and applied.

Thomas, the epoxy was brushed on then turned on a drying wheel. Spraying requires thinning of epoxy and I do not like to thin epoxy if it can be avoided.

KB, those look great to me, you are one talented dude.

Looking at you profile, we can't live 2 hours apart, I'm just about 40 miles south of Ft. Wayne.

how ironic would it be if you caught a snakehead or pacu on that? :)

whittler   your the one with talent  not me   this winter you will have to come down to monticello  so i can pick your brain about crankbaits kb

heres a couple more same thing but different  names
