I'm not questioning the integrity of the SEC at all, but I will say they are just like every other league. Controlled by 2 teams. The SEC would obviously be Alabama and Florida.

The SEC may have ruled CFB for the past 15 years, but the Big 10 has a century of football dominance they will never touch.

Just accept that the reign is over. Make sure you turn off the lights on your way out the door.

For Missouri it's just starting. I think we are still short a couple of key positions,

but the "program" is on track. I hope to see the Tigers on the list in the next few

years. The biggest "plus" to being a part of the SEC is recruiting.

As I agree that the big 10 has dominated longer, it's also a 40 years older than the SEC. I'm a PAC 12 fan myself, specifically USC. But I am a bigger fan of great games no matter the team.

I think the SEC is throwing a message of "out with the old and in with the new". Been to consecutive the last 15 years.

I understand. I'm just having fun trying to be as obnoxious as average SEC fanboys.

Oh c'mon us guys that aren't near an NFL city need something to look forward too. I can't root for the thunder all year.

Dallas is the closest NFL team to me. Case closed.

I live in Cleveland. Trust me when I say having an NFL team in your hometown is all that great.

Smackdown! That's what this thread is all about.

I grew up in the Big 8 and have hated the SEC most of my life,

but now I IS ONE!

Big 8! Wow! Most people on this board weren't alive when the Big 8 was around. LOL!

It explains why I see so many kids wearing yinzer (steelersl) jerseys.

I am talking about right here, right now and into the future.   If you go back far enough you will see Hurricanes and Nebraska dominance in the 80s-90s, so it was intended as a what have you done for me lately statement.

Does the SEC as a conference dominate, is it  superior to the ACC, BIG 10, or BIG 12 ?

Based on year end results, it is relatively equal,  I'd put the top 3 in each conference against each other and would have a hard time accepting that the SEC would win outright in a round robin against the other conference top 3. (Bama, Ms St, Ole Miss, vs Wisconsin, OH State, Michigan State (Big 10)  and/or Clemson, GT, FSU (ACC), TCU, Baylor, Kansas State (Big 12).   I just can't see the SEC continuing to be the powerhouse for 2015, 2016 and beyond, the competition is stiff! In the end its about an individual program not the conference it emerged from.

Such a beautiful picture.

Well for the past 10 years what was the reason the "weak conferences" were not in? Simple because everyone thought the SEC was a god sent confrence destined to change football and forever dominate. What happened the first year the SEC had to put up or shut up ? Oh yeah that's right 230 yards from a running back, 256 passing yards, 42 points, 537 yards. And a Alabama loss, so national championships mean nothing from here on out about how good a team is. Oh but my mistake you guys have some national championships so I guess Oregon and Ohio state suck..

You just had to bring back this thread didn't you?  :eyebrows:   Man it was tough watching my Sooners get SMACKED down.  I will not elaborate as to what I think the problem is so I will spare all of you!

Anyways. I still remember the Big 8 days! Heck I even remember sitting on the living room floor after Thanksgiving dinner to watch my Sooners take on the Huskers.  Man I miss those days!!!!!
