Lee Precision Melter help

Featured Replies

I used my new Lee Precision Melter for the first time today.   Worked fine for the first 10 jigs or so before it shut down and wouldn't ever heat back up.  I had power to the outlet (other stuff worked that I plugged in).  I waited until it completely cooled down and tried again - still wouldn't heat back up.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like it may have an internal circuit breaker.  I would look for that or a fuse.

sounds like it broke. If its the little 10lber than there is no breaker. I dont know about the other sizes. I would contact the store that you bought it from. I have broke one before but It had several years of use before it finaly gave out.

It is the 4lb pot.  There isn't any breaker or switch on the outside.  There is a cap on it with 3 or 4 screws that need to take off to check I guess.

Thanks

What kind of warranty does it have? You may be able to take it back. If it is not under warranty you may be able to repair it yourself. I know the sell replacement heating coils for the laddle pot I have.

I would call Lee and talk to them.  If its new they may warranty it for you.  I believe most of lee stuf is 2-5 years or some is lifetime.

I called Lee Precision and talked to them.  They had a run of bad parts in those - so they are sending me one to replace it with.  They seem very good to work with.

That's good news and actually encouraging that Lee will stand behind their products.

Awesome!
