Favorite Topwater lures

Featured Replies

I never had a lot of success with topwater till I tried the Heddon Pop~N~Image lure I like it much better than the Pop R or any other topwater I have found , I have caught close to 100 bass this past month on one, the  biggest was 7+pounds and missed a couple that were bigger. It works well at night also , I love the shape of the nose because it pops and has a walk the dog action as well. And it has a great sounding rattle to it

whats your favorite topwater lure?

I like the Pop-R and a buzz bait. I fish both quite a bit. As Far as the Pop-N-Image it looks nice. I've had my Pop-R's so long I've just never thought of replacing them.

I really like the spooks and frogs. I have only had two fish on a frog but thats ok.

I really like the Gambler Cane Toads and the Stanley Ribbits, last tuesday I caught a 6.5lber on a black Ribbit.

But I also like Cavitron buzzbaits, LC sammy's, and LC G-Splash's.

Super spook, Ex-cel popper, Double bladed Buzzbait, Bobby's Perfect Frog, 3:16 Wake Jr.

Original Floating Rapala #9 to #11, Jointed Rapalas same sizes;Spitin Image and the Rapala Skitter walk in blue gill.  Just got my first spooks and going to try them  out this year

LC gunfish

Buzzbait

Soft plastic frog

Although no other topwater catches bass like a #6 chartruese sneaky pete on a flyrod. Problem is none of the tournament trails here allow use of flyrods.

I throw a lot of buzzbaits, soft plastic frogs, walking baits and pop-r types, but i absolutely love a Jitterbug!  Frog pattern during the morning and evening, and black at night.

freshwater all i need is a chugbug and a jointed rap!!

I would say my all time favorite top water is a Storm Rattlin chug bug, I often use buzzbaits as well.

Rapala Model F18

I make my own lures, and I like them.  I like poppers, and frogs.  They seem to be the most likely to catch fish, in my area.  :D

I throw buzzbaits and frogs.  Anyone remember the "Herbs Dilly"?  I love those things.  I am about to run out and they aren't making them anymore  >:D

Buzzbait. Black.

Amen, brother!  Black buzzbait all the way.
