Coming Up Short

Featured Replies

My goal this year was to catch more +5lb. bass this year than I did last year. It looks like I may not even match last year's number.

If you set a goal for this year, have you succeeded, or like me are you still working on achieving it?

Yea this year has been kinda different.  I set a goal to catch at least 1 fish everytime I go out, even if it's for an hour.  I have been doing pretty good, I can count on 1 hand(maybe a thumb on the other) the times I didn't catch fish this year.  My brother said its been really different this year, possibly due to the long harsh winter we had.

I'm way behind last years numbers over 5lbs.

2014 is turning out to be the year to forget. My time with a rod in my hand can be counted on 2 hands and that didn't start until the dog days of summer. I can already sense that there will be no improvement with that respect. You can basically call me a hypocrite for even being on a site like this because of my lack of fishing time.

my goal was to catch at least one fish per trip. i have managed that and skunked once this year. so im pretty happy and say its mission accomplished.

my next is to land a autumn 5lber. never fished much in the fall

My only goal this year was to get out a bit more than I have been over the last several years and I'm glad to say that I've done it. I suspect that I could still count my number of trips on the fingers of both hands (or it would be very close) but I've got a 2-3 day trip planned for this weekend and I'll likely get out at least once or twice later this fall. Mission accomplished. Next year my goal will be the same, to fish a bit more than I did this year.

My goal this year, like every year, is to have fun and enjoy the experience. So far it has been good, I'm averaging five day a week, my only disappointment is that some of my friends are getting older, and not fishing as much. I cant understand it because I haven't aged at all! Lol

I'm still chasing a 5lber this year. Hopefully this fall will be good to me.
