Yes it will be something your Alphas F will not be, however, and I have 3, you reallý have to think very carefully if you are willing to spend in a reel that specialized. Pixies just have to be spooled with light line and mounted on L action rods for them to show what they are capable of, 6 lb monofilament is just right. If you are not going to spool them with light line and mount them on a L rod don´t waste your money.

Let´s say "weak" in between "", the drag is not weak, the drag is designed for light line and avoid breakeage, the drag pads are very smooth operating but they are not for " cross their eyes hooksets " nor " horse´em in " fights out of thick cover, if that is what you plan to do then it´s not for you, the spool capacity is right for 4 up to 8 lb test, if you want heavier line in that spool then you are screwed,

 

I have 3 because I like the reel, because I can use it in several places, because it´s fun to fish with it and  I can afford to have a reel that specialized. Paired to my GLoomis CR721 and 6 lb test Trilne XL it´s insanely fun, the setup weights nothing ( actually rod, reel and line weight around 10 oz ) I can fish baits that otherwise I would be better casting with spinning gear.

That's a better description.  "Weak" is a relative term.

Which finesse spool do you have? Don't know about the alphas finesse 105 spool but megabass finesse spool for alphas is way much better than pixy. I've one paired with alphas F and if wanted I can spool the stock spool with 12 lb mono or 40-50 lb braid which is almost covering everything.

Well, the Liberto Pixy was discontinued around 2009. It was replaced by the PX68 - sort of a formalization of the popular Pixzilla modifications (minus the worm gear bearing). The PX68 has Magforce Z instead of the Pixy's Magforce V, a higher gear ratio (6.8:1), a multi-disc drag stack, a slightly different higher capacity spool, and probably has other differences as well.  The PX Type R is the U.S. market version (with several changes - color, clicking drag, knobs) of the JDM PX68.

 

The Daiwa experts on the board can summarize all the differences better than I have I expect...

I used to Own a Pixy (yellow) and still own an Alphas, I agree with the guy above who stated that if you already have a "finesse spool" for your Alphas then you aren't going to gain anything with the Pixy. Just my opinion.

The PX 68 is what the Pixzilla ( a super tuned version of the Pixy) owner wanted his Pixy to be but what the Pixzilla could never be. You could dump hundreds of dollars in modifications and your reel will still be "slow", simply because you couldn't change the gearing. The PX68 has the 6.8 GR plus all the bling you were willing to add to the Pixy to turn it into a Pixzilla.

I got the PXL-R this year and compared to the other Alphas I own (Ito Megabass tuned) it is leaps and bounds better.

Like Raul stated it is everything a Pixzilla wanted to be, but never could.

My only regret in buying mine is that I now want many more!

Speaking of the PX-R and PXL-R, I just saw that Tackle Warehouse has them marked on sale for just under $400!
