Anyone Using Braid With Their Nrx's?

nope. no idea why you would want to. the blanks are so ridiculously sensitive that not using fluoro for how well it transmits slack line feel on an NRX is a waste of money.....in my opinion. it is just so eerie how much you can feel dropping a jig through a tree on a slack line. i guess if you had the 916 for punching that's a different story.

Line capacity issues with using a Conquest 50 for inshore fishing and the ability to cast lighter weight lures better with braid than with FC.

I was more interested in the braid with recoils than with sensitivity.

weird. i see what you're getting it.  i honestly think it's quite a bit easier to throw 6/8# fluoro than 15-20# braid. even /w the low line capacity of the conquest (i'd say ballpark 90-100 yards of quality fluoro is a good estimate. I haven't used the reel but just based on TT review of it using 87 yds of 10# super natural which is quite small in diameter relative to its U.S counterpart, 90 yards of something like 8# FC sniper should be easily attainable?) is beyond enough line. personally, i shy away from braid unless it's totally necessary. i also don't inshore fish so my opinion will be biased towards bass.

I have never used any braid lower than 30# and 30 is easy to cast.

Thanks

I use braid on my NRX's. I use 10lb braid on a spinning reel on a 923MR Inshore. I use 30 to 50lb braid on a 802C JWR & 804c JWR. No problems with the recoils. I do use a mono leader on the spinning outfit.

Thanks Dwight! I will be trying braid with my 802 the next that I use it.
