Looking at these for our 17' tracker. Anyone have them? Would prefer 10 foot over 8 just for extra options but not sure if it's worth the extra money.

Stick it anchoring is cheaper but there 10 foot is two piece and they have less mounting options. Would prefer not drilling holes into boat.

For a 17' tin boat you could probably get one of those ones that kayak anglers use that just ties off to a boat cleat and you push it into the bottom manually. 

Seems to me most non motorized shallow water anchors are similar in design with the biggest differences being mounting options and material. I haven't read any negative reviews on any of them. Of the ones you are looking at, which are easiest to store when not in use and easiest to deploy when needed? That's what I would base my decision on. Drilling holes in a boat is not that difficult. After the first one, it gets easier    

You don't need to drill new holes with Powerpole.  They have mounts that fit the bolt patterns of the jackplate.

That's what it is, except you can get a mount for the boat so you stay still.

They really are all about the same. Dig in has more mounting options though.

Go to a.m. leonards website and check out the fiberglass tree stakes.  That's what I have for my toon and they are CHEAP!  Just a thought.

One that you can take apart and make as long as you want.

 

Just buy a 10' stick of 3/4" EMT and cut it in half.

 

Then buy one of these:

Rig a loop in a cleat where you want it.  Use 2, front and back if you want to stay still.... No single anchor pin is going to keep you from pivoting .. regardless of how it mounts.

I've got a 7' Stick It anchor pin for my 

yak and love it. Same material used in 

Power Poles. The idea of buying a 

fiberglass pole on the cheap is a good 

idea, as well.

I see two different 10' options - they offer 

a 2 piece 10-foot system, or a single piece.

 

At least it is single as far as I can tell... it 

doesn't say "2 piece" as it does in the other

model.

Grainger supply company has 10 foot fiberglass poles that are 3/4 and are exact same as digin and stick it poles but with a sharp tip. I can either shave it into a tip and drill a screw into the end. It's like 34 dollars though.

Then find something to bolt onto boat that will hold it like the bracket of a humminbird fishin buddy. The bmx grip is a good idea though.
