Here's a pic of the lure I made. I sculpted it out of clay first, then made a plaster of paris mold. I rig it on a 5/0 offset with a swivel to keep it from sliding down the hook. I've fished this lure on three different outings found it to be very successful. The tail has great action! It floats, but it's also big and somewhat heavy, so it can still get the attention from a bass, even in thick matted duckweed.

It's super cool to catch a fish with my own lure. I love the fact that I can just melt the plastic down and remold when it tears apart.

I caught several decent fish on three outings so far with this lure, including 4 pike. Here's some pics of a 5lb. bass I caught last night.

I got a new burner, it melts my plastic more efficient now and it was only $10. I've made many plastic lizards, worms and crawdad tails.

It is a good feeling to catch a bass on something you made. And I agree, it is neat that you can remelt the plastic and pour again!

Thats awesome. I've always wanted to try something a little different. I have a few ideas for som "creatures" . I never thought to use plaster of paris, for some reason I thought you had to have a metal mold. Thats what I get for thinking "inside" the box.

That is so awesome. Your enjoyment of catching that hawg must have been magnified 100x knowing that you made that lure.
