I just bought 40lb flouro-braid, I have a 6,3 medium abu Garcia vendetta rod, and a bait caster in 7.0:1 gear ratio. does this sound like a pretty good setup for fishing jigs ?

For fishing lighter jigs in less than 20 ft of water ... yep

I would get a stiffer rod for jig fishing. Something like a MH or H, depending on lure weights. Plus I would opt for a longer rod... 6'6"-7'6".

 

If you're using finesse jigs with light wire hooks around the 1/4 oz range then I guess it would be ok.

40lb? Seems a bit heavy...

I use 15 #fluoro, a 7' MH rod and a burner ratio reel.

If I'm fishing real nasty stuff I go to 20# and a heavy 7' rod.

I use a MH/F and a 7:1 reel with 50lb braid for swim jigs and other jigs when I'm not punching grass and pads.

yea,its braid with fluoropolymer fiber in it so it sinks like fluoro but has the strength and diameter of braid.

Sunline FX2 actually sinks as well.  It's weird because it's kinda made for frogging.  Either way, Sunline FX2 is almost second to none stuff if you want to try some good braid.

Medium power rod is to light for most jig applications, can't fish cover, braid isn't a good choice for open water like deep structure. Might try to use this combo for T -rigged worms.

Lol I honestly thought it was a typo, didn't expect Fluoro-Braid to be an actual thing... I've heard of heavy core sinking braids but none of the fluoro-braid mumbo jumbo...

Seems like it would be a good all around setup for jigs. I might go for a medium heavy rod, but I think the medium is fine, especially w/braided line. I assume the fluoro-braid is still low/zero stretch?

IMO your line and reel are good for what you intend to do.  Your rod is too short and underpowered to be an effective jig rod for anything but lighter jigs in shallow water.

A medium power rod regardless of the line type can only apply about 3 lbs of pulling force, a bass weighing in excess of 3 lbs in cover will go where it wants, you can't control the bass.

The vendetta runs more MH than a M...The MH runs H comparably... Bad power ratings by ABU. My dedicated jig rod I run a 7' vendetta with 20# braid on a Citica201E never having any problems.

Most of my jig fishing is done with foolball jigs dragging them through rocks. For this I use a 6'6"MH with 15-20# fluorocarbon. When pitching to heavy cover I use a 7' Heavy with fast tip and 20# fluorocarbon. Both with fast reel to pick up slack line quickly. This is what works for me but try your setup and if is comfortable and effective by all means use it.
