Leaser Lake Tiger Muskies Are Growing Fast!!

Featured Replies

Hey man. Alright!! I used to fish that lake alot when it was full. It's been drained for almost 15 years. I really can't wait til they get to filling it up and an epic fishery that it can be once again. Chain pickerel was the funfish to catch when I was a kid. Bass too.

Yea it's crazy they said it was fixed but I guess had problems with pressure because of an underground spring. I used to go there all the time when I was a kid. It's really low now but its a good opportunity to catch those muskies because they are concentrated in a much smaller area now

Good point. I was thinking negative as a bass fisherman cause all the cover was 50 yards uup.heard that spinnerbaits were the ticket up there this past summer and early fall. What are you throwing.

Go down to the "Everything Else" section, there you will find a tutorial for posting pictures, it's in the pinned section near the top of page.

Thanks speedbead. It's a crappy picture but it's hard to do by yourself quickly and still release the fish

They should be getting plump since the state feeds them rainbows

For the muskies I was throwing 5 inch suspending jerkbaits. I was only there for 2.5 hours when I caught that musky and I also hooked another but he got off when he was close to the bank.

...Muskies won't be the only thing fattening up on trout...

I once saw a 16 inch bass try to swallow a 9 inch trout. The bass just swam away with the trout sticking out of its mouth.

That's my theory as well. When that lake gets filled back up that lake is deep and the stocked trout they put in there will survive over the summer. So those 8 and 9 inchers that PA trout stocking is usually "famous" for and I think they will stock it with feeder golden shiners too, will be prey for bass and musky. And in 5 years after lake fill up, this lake will produce some heavy bass. Again Just a theory. It was a good bass lake a decade ago.
