This was built back in the spring but I never posted any pics... I put batteries in the camera last night a shoot a few. This rod has become a favorite for so many techniques, that I plan to build another one if I ever get caught up. After looking at the pics, I forgot to wipe it off. ...lol

specs:

-4C70HF blank

-burnt burl split grip with laguna accents

-Fuji ECS seat (I never went back and smoothed the check!)

-Ti SiC guides

-cobalt thread (no CP) with 3 single turn inlays of silver (I love the inlays but I HATE counting wraps when putting them in!)

That looks great Fletch. I love the inlays. How do you make your labels?

I send out for almost all of my decal work - Decal Connection.  I email what I want and about $4 each and 3 days later it's in my mailbox.  They can do just about anything, text or graphic for a reasonable fee.

I use the "new waterslide" paper.  It's tough... and easy to work with.  I also use the setting solution.

Another nice rod! Great work as usual. Thanks for posting the pics. This summer I did a couple of rods for others that took waaay too long due to busyness/emergencies. Now I am hoping to take some time in the fall for rod building again just for fun. I just bought 3 Shikari blanks on sale at Mudhole. Looking to do something new with them. Exotic burl or try a fancy buttwrap or something I haven't done yet. Wish me luck! LOL

I agree,  very nice work.  The blue looks good on a rod.  I don't build rods or lures but I like to look in here and see what you guys are up to from time to time.  I appreciate a good craftsman/artist who shows pride in their work.
