Need Help Picking A Swimbait Rod

Featured Replies

Hello to all, I'm looking for a swimbait  rod for 1 1/2 to 2 oz baits max and want something on the shorter side  6'8"   any ideas .... Thanks

Dobyn's 735 (1/4 - 1 1/2oz) was the shortest I could find near your range.

I am sure someone might know of a shorter rod that can effectively handle what you are looking for.

You won't be able to find one that short, unless you've got a broomstick. Literally.

That could be a possible route to take.

Might be worth reaching out to DVT or Low Down Customs to see if a rod that short can be made to fish swimbaits.

Why do you need a swimbait rod less than 7'?

Tom- from the looks of his profile picture... the shorter the rod, the easier it will be to travel with.

Making a 2 piece swimbait rod is difficult, Kistler made a 2 piece. Kistler does make a 7' swimbait rod Z-bone LEH 5 series, rate for lures to 2 oz as I recall. Loomis had a 2 piece rod that was OK for swimbait s few years ago??

Go to TW and get the Zillion 6'6" H on sale for $114.98. It'll handle that fine, and much, much more.
