Winter River Fishing

Featured Replies

For starters, I don't think i've posted on here in about 4 months so it feels good to be back and read some stuff again.

I went out today on the Susquehanna for about an hour and no dice. I threw a yellow twister tail and a spook on the top.

Anybody have any tips on what to use and what not?

I know the theme is to work slow but I just like more information.

Find the winter holes. Guys still catching 45-60 fish a day.

Not sure where you're at but the suskie here (north branch) is running mighty high and looks like chocolate milk.

1/8 oz black hair jigs in slack water eddies.

I'd put the topwaters away and fish a hair jig, tube, or erie darter. Don't be afraid to let it sit on the bottom 30 seconds or even more without moving it.

An actual fishing thread with useful information in it, I knew this day would come!

All the replies above are spot on with what I have found. Small hair jigs or 2 1/2" tubes fished slow enough to be live bait in deeper areas.
