  1. Wednesday nighter at black hills. Catching them deep.
  2. Got to get down and fish lower Potomac Sunday. Fished the Kyle Hoffman memorial tournament out of leesylvania. It turned out to be the best day my partner and I have had down there. We scooped up first place with 20lb 12oz. The weather was unfavorable but the fishing was great.
  3. I was able to squeeze in 3 hours of boat time this evening. By the way my 10# floro looked after forcing this fat girl out of the brush I made the right call on netting instead of flipping her into the boat. Shakey head did the trick for me. Had some even chase it in on the retrieve.
  4. Thanks I will definitely check it out. Stuck over here threw the week building a Harris teeter and two small building. Needed to find a better place to catch some fish. Pretty much fished out the two ponds across from the job site.
  5. Anyone no any spots to beat the bank around Easton MD?
  6. Rain for the first few hours then a small window of calm. The wind progressively got worse. My other buddy's went out Sunday. The wind was so crazy Park police told them go ahead and use your engine to navigate around to the areas you want to fish.
  7. Hit black hills Saturday. 10hr later the lake had me scratching my head. The bite was ok in the morning then fell off. We made our way around to all my go to spots and all but one failed me. Then all the spots I usually stay away from had feisty 10"ers. Exhausted from bass fishing we took a break and filled the cooler with some crappie. Planing on going back in two weeks with my old man. Try to put him on some bass. Here is a pic of the day's best.
  8. It seems like you have to hit the river everyday until that one day...it's on and you can throw everything at them and it dosnt matter what it is they will bite it. my guess they will be up in the dam if not they will be there soon hitting spinner baits, crank baits, swim baits, and of course tubes. Water flow helps too. Catch the river on a slight rise and it will be one hell of a day on the Potomac.
  9. The river is fishing really well. While I'm stuck out of town for work some good friends like to tease me with pictures of chunkie smallmouth throughout the day
  10. Hit sleepy creek yesterday for a little buddy tournament. Landed 5 fish and only 3 measured. Put a little funny money in my pocket claiming 1st and lunker. Didn't care for the ice build up on my eyelets in the early morn but o well.

  12. How about this December weather. Made it out to Brunswick Saturday. Had just enough water to hop the falls and run up below harpers ferry. Put 20 in the boat and lost around 10. Majority of fish were keepers. Healthy and plump. Biggest bass around 16-17 inches. Unfortunately the better fish got off. Manage to catch a big carp that actually ate my jig.
  13. Ahh it's so fun.. Take a day to charge the batteries and back at it tomorrow.
  14. Is there anyone out there?? Who's getting on the fall bite??
  15. Fished the anglers appreciation tourney Sunday down on Anna and In spite of our terrible practice Saturday we placed 18th out of 114 boats. Pretty excited about the finish. We lost one key fish that would have placed us in the top 10 but that's how it goes. It took a whopping 25lb to win the tournament. My two week vacation is getting ready to kick off and the long awaited rain is starting to fall. Looks like it time to head up to fort hunter and play with the smallies.
  16. Where are the 20 inchers?
  17. Loose a big one land a good one. That bite!!
  18. My buddy Dustin and I decided to brave the elements yesterday and head down to black hills and catch us a couple fish. Water temps were in the mid 60s and had a little color to it. We slowly worked our way out onto the main lake from the ramp where we finally hooked up and put one in the boat. We found a little spot on the edge of a grass line near the dock that was holding either crappie or perch. We threw out a marker so we wouldn't get blown off the spot. We managed to hook up with 4 more times but only boated 2 of them. One came on a shakey head and another on a drop shot. We left that spot in search for wood and rock. Being the two river rats we are we don't know what the hell that green stringy stuff is that grows up from the bottom. Dustin hasn't been to the lake in years I took him on a little tour of what the lake has to offer. We managed to put a few more fish in the boat before the day cam to a windy end. Picked one up on a black-n-blue jig as it vertically dropped down threw a standing tree and the rest of the fish came off a spinnerbait. We had a decent outing but didn't lean back into a black hills hog this time. Looking forward to getting back down next week.
  19. Made our way down to lake Anna yesterday for our last team tournament with north mountain bass anglers. We launched out of Christopher run campground and fished around the state park but mostly fished in pamunkey creek. Fish we targeted were came from deep points and brush piles near the channel swings. Lots of boat traffick going on but manage to land some fish and loose some fish. Our biggest fish of the day I pulled from a rocky structure using a dirty jig in 34' of water. First time I ever had to fizz a fish and it worked...lol. That fish tipped the scales at 3.5 but with the others we caught on jig, shakey head and mainly drop shot we had a total wimpy weight of 10.1 that was actually enough to take 1st in our tournament. There was also a 82 boat wounded warriors tournament going on that took 19lb to win. Makes you think to yourself what should we have done different. Looks like we will be headed back down in a few week to start pre fishing for the anglers appreciation tournament in October. Need to mark more structure.
  20. Drove down to lake Frederick this morning for a change of pace. Would like to have gotten there a hour earlier but managed to catch 20 or so. Mostly were dinks but landed 5 keepers. All but one fish were caught on a shakey head, the other on a spybait right in the middle of schooling bass. First time using the missile baits head and I'm pretty impressed with it. Fish were deep but there really isn't much shallow there. Kept the boat in about 27' made cast to to points and coves in the 19 footish range and worked it back. Got to se a big pike and lots of schooling dinks witch made for a good day. Now where to go tomorrow morning?
  21. Getting off early so I'll be ready in the morning
  22. It's all good now my man. I'm back in action.
