Spinnerbait Makers

Featured Replies

Allright, I know there is been a lot of threads about powder coating but I had one specific to spinnerbaits.  Is there anyway to powdercoat spinnerbait heads without a spray gun?  I want to make sure both sides as well as the top and bottom are even without getting a lot of paint on the hook/wire.

I heat the heads and put them hook first into the powder paint.  The stuff on the hook wipes off.

I think I understand the theory on this.  So the head is the only thing hot enough to melt the powder correct?  Thanks for the idea.

I do the same as Jig Man.  And if you are using an FB-3 Fluid Bed and the cup is not deep enough then you can contact the manufacturer at (715) 845-3009 and they will make you one that is to your depth specifications up to about 6".

It takes more heat for the powder paint to stick to steel than lead. What I do is heat up the lead portion of the bait, dip it, then use a small paintbrush to brush off the paint from the hook and frame.
