Ultralight Casting

Featured Replies

I have a St. Croix Premier 7'6" Ultralight casting rod, and don't know what to do with it. I have a pixy or a revo mgx I can put on it, but don't know what I would throw. What would you do with this rod?

I didn't think there was such an animal.  Sounds pretty cool!  What is the lure weight range for this rod?

If I had that rod, I'd be thinking about what I had that I could sell so I could buy another pixy.  But you already have a pixy to put on it!  You're in fat city!  I'd be stocking up on some mini-crankbaits, small jigs, small plastics, Beetle Spins, etc., and having a ball catching smallmouths on it.

Tight lines,

Bob

I want this rod so bad.

I would put some light crankbait on it for trout.

Also spinner bait like Johnson beetle.

Take the reels you think you want to use on your UL rod and what light tackle you plan on throwing and go out and give them some exercise.

That's what I've done over the last two seasons to figure out what setups I like best.

At the very least It'll give you a good reason to go fishing.

It would make a nice tight quarters float rod.

Where'd you get that rod from? They don't even make them.

got it about 5 years ago at a local tackle shop that has a lot of trout stuff. They discontinued it a year later.
