Just got the word. The fishing classic will be starting February, 6

and it will only last one week. It was typically the last part of February, and the first ten days of March. Shortened by 10 days this year.

Why are they doing it this way?  Not as popular anymore?

Because it pretty much fizzles out after the first week anyhow.

Still can't wait until they build the giant BPS at the new expansion site at Mall of America. First big BPS other than the small little ones.

Wonder if they're gonna squeeze 2 weeks worth of deals

into one, or lessen the whole shabang.

Wasn't overly impressed with their past few sales, other

than for the Carbonlites. I just want 3 bags of Stik-Os for

$10, and maybe some hooks and stuff at the Classic.

Thanks. It has always been the last weekend in February.

So if BPS pushes it back to the first week in February they will make room for another sale before spring or to parallel the Bassmasters Classic later in February.

More sales.

The Bait Monkey is proud of Bass Pro Shops.

I live in west central illinois and hoping to save enough money to go down to the BPS in springfield, missouri for a weekend during the classic. Ill keep a heads up to see when the seminars are and what pros their going to have.

it's fun even if you don't buy anything.  i met and chatted with Brandon Palaniuk last year at the lawrenceville, ga location and found him to be a super nice guy.  he spoke that morning at a seminar, but i missed it.

although i think you may be disappointed in some of the sales.  i think at any given time you can find equally as good of deals online and in other retailers.  it's only the house brand stuff that really goes on a sale worth mentioning.

You won't be disappointed with the Springfield one seminars or not. It's incredible. Like seriously... Want to live in it! Lol

Is that for all locations or do the dates differ from one store to the next?

  • 3 weeks later...

I asked about the Cincinnati one, and same thing.  dates moved up to the 6th of february (next week).  so wasnt ready for that.  Im glad I found that out, cause I would have shown up after the fact................

it will be interesting to see what sales they have all crammed in to one week.  that stores gonna be PACKED on the first weekend.

Wish they'd take it back to the way it was in the 90's with all the pros would go to Springfield and they had all the vendors there too. That was an awesome time and brought me and my family all the way from northern Wisconsin years in a row. They could still do that now and then do what they do at the other stores the weeks after.
