How To Fish A Rage Rig

Featured Replies

Yes

Rage rig is one of my favorites and with a light enough weight (1/16) is a good alternative to a Senko. Falls almost horizontal and slow. Skips well too.

You dont always need to use a Rage bait either.

What!

Just kidding...The Rage Rig is something everyone should have in their line-up.

You can fish it anyway you want. I've used a Rage-Rigged bait deadsticking, all the way to burning it on top, and everything in between. I find it most useful when I'm fishing shallow grass. Like a Senko, a vast majority of your bites will come on the fall when fishing it slow, and while slow rolling it along a weedline when you work it like a swim jig. Being weedless makes for a good go-anywhere search bait, also. I agree, it's one rig you must have in your repertoire.

How do you fish a Rage Rig? Do you fish it more like a worm or a weightless fluke? Also, what's the advantage of this over a weightless fluke?

Thanks

I use several different retrieves. I swim it, pull it up and let it fall, crawl along the bottom, smoke it across the top.... Just try different ways and see what works.

ETA:

They're telling you how to fish it in your other thread.

Very effective in giving a bait a different look, good to change it up once and a while, check out Bassresource's video it helps a lot

Nope. Just got to remember to set the hook underhanded. :)
