The Bassmaster 2015 Southern Open kicked off today, a 3-day tournament running from Thu, Jan 15 to Sat, Jan 17.

The launch pad as usual is Lake Tohopekaliga, so the competitors have access to the entire Kissimmee Chain:

Toho, Cypress, Hatchineha, Kissimmee, Tiger & Rosalie. The BPS weigh-in and Lake Toho are both within an hour

of my house, but I’ll be watching televised coverage like everyone else, a much better seat  ;-))

The weigh-in began at 3:13 with John Marshall who bagged one fish. You may watch the weigh-in on the Internet:

Looks like a very tough day overall.  A few guys caught 'em big but most didn't.  I know they were talking about a cold front/fronts throwing things off.  Maybe it will pick up the next 2 days.

Yeah, seemed like a good day for the leaders, and an off day for everyone else. One of the Lee brothers said it was one of his worst ever.

We will be at the weigh in today, maybe the sun that came out today will help with catching some bigguns.

Looking at some of the photos, I figured out where a couple were fishing. Turned out it was  some of our "go to" regular spots.

Like to know more about the fight between Ish and Keith Poche.  They both went into the drink...

I’m not aware of the details, but I know that Ish is highly territorial, shall we say  :rolleyes7:

Remember the MLF on Lake Istokpoga? At one point, Marty Stone was approaching Ish Monroe's boat

to chat with him. Marty almost got his head bit off, and promptly backed out of the canal  :mad1:

The water temperature in the K-chain today was  probably in the high 60s,

not a good place to spend much time.
