we had the duckett micro magics on sale for 39.98. lol.  A lot of the time if you jsut scan stuff yourself it'll be way cheaper. when stuff goes down to a penny to 1.00 management isn't allowed to tell us

Yesterday got a few H2O brand frogs for $2 each. Also got Mustad ultra point EWG hooks on sale a 5 pack for $.98. I loaded up on worm hooks!

Academy deals can be great, I remember I went in there once and they had green pumpkin flukes for less than a dollar a pack.... I cleaned em' out!

I miss Academy here in VA.   The stores in Texas used to put all their crappie/panfish lures on sale every winter.  Usually around 50 cents a pack. I literally have hundreds, maybe thousands of Southern Pro or Kalins curly tails in chartreuse shad, acid rain, crawfish, silver n blue, june bug chartreuse, and several other colors.   That was 5 years ago.  I fish for crappie year round...in addition to everything else, but I really don't think I will have to by panfish curly tails again....ever.

I never even look at advertisements or anything. I just walk down the aisle, looking for absurd prices. I clean up! I have gotten crazy deals, and even alerted the store to a mis-marked set of H2O raingear they had marked at 19.95. It is regular almost 200. Manager thanked me profusely and then condfided that they would have had to sell it to me for that if I had forced the issue.

I still kick myself sometimes for being so honest .

Acedemy and espicially dicks, don't advertise their super clearence prices. They just do it. I like to think its to keep loyal customers like me coming back hoping to catch a sale. It works. I go into both every week or so. And rarely leave empty handed- sale or not.

I almost never go to our local bass pro because of it.

As I posted the other day, they had Rage Tail Anacondas for only 99 cents.  I cleaned them out.
