What is the Rod? Action? My swimbait stick can't even load with a frog but will hurl a 1 1/2 oz football

Tight lines

I am sure you can use it. I have thrown paddle tails on a 1-4 oz swim bait rod. The length might be a issue and you might have to work it sideways.

Can this rod be used as a frog rod with success?

How about for jigs

Depends on the rod. If you're talking about, say, a Dobyns 795SBMT it's a a little too heavy for most frogs and jigs. It can load a 3/4-1 ounce jig w/ trailer and effectively fish it but it's not ideal. What rod will you be using?

The LTB 7'9" H is a punching rod rated 1/2-2 oz. The LTB swimbait rod is a 7'10" rated 1-4 oz. which one are you referring to?

1 -4 oz

I wouldn't use it for frogs personally.  The rod is probably not going to have the tip needed to load up and launch a frog let alone walk one in a beautiful wide glide.  I'm not familiar with the rod so might be wrong and maybe it does have soft enough tip but there's only one way to find out.  Tie one on and start chucking it in the yard.

Biggest issue is going to be getting it to load during the cast.

What else could I ise this rod for?

I don't have any swim baits

I don't know why I bought this thing

Easy enough, buy some entry level swimbaits, some nice ones can be had for not a whole lotta $$$, if ya dont like the swimbait world you could always sell them off and continue using it for pike/muskie or heavy jigs....

In the process ya might find the pike/muskie like the swimbaits too, win-win....

You can trade it for a rod that you'll actually use. Or return it if that's an option.

Punching, A-Rig, Jig with a heavy hook, musky & pike, you could maybe get by with a frog, and buy some swimbaits for it... youll be happy happy happy
