did anyone ever use the 2lb test diameter braid? what do you use it for? 

I used 10/2 powerpro(10lb test-2lb dia) for quite a few years on one of my baitcasters. Senkos, lipless cranks, spinnerbaits, anything really. I use it with Spro frog to catch at the time my PB bass from slop pictured below and had to get it over the limb as well

 

 

 

I use 8lb spiderwire braid with an equivalent of 1lb mono for walleye fishing and plastics with a leader. but I only use it on spinning reels 

I use 8 pound test Fireline on all my spinning reels. It's just slightly thicker than 2 pound test mono. Catch lots of smallmouth, pike, walleye and largemouth.

I use 10lb PP on all my spinning gear. Caught a mess 

of 6 pounders on it with zero problems.

 

Swear by the stuff.

The lowest pound test braid I've personally used is Power Pro Micro Line 4#. Best I remember it's sub 1# test mono in dia. Great stuff, I absolutely love it, been using the same spool on my ultra light spinning rod for going on 3 years now with zero problems or breaks. I'm amazed every time I fish with it at the distance I can cast micro lures for Crappie and Bream.

I have used 2lb Fireline of spinning reels for stream trout for a while now, only problem is that it has 0 abrasion resistance, other than that, its pretty good.

thats not how i read it...and I have never seen braid that small.

 

FWIW if you want something smaller I would recommend trying berkley nano-fil. from my understanding its kinda like a mono-filament-braid.  you would need to do your own research but it goes al the way down to 1lb test that is .001". 

 

after looking at the braided lines on TW gamma torque has the thinnest daimeter. 10lb gamma is .004"

I use it on my shakyhead and dropshot rod. 

I use it in the river on my spinning reel for smallmouth. Works great. 

I use 4lb nanofil on an ultralight spinning setup I use for streams. Good stuff actually, but it gets progressively worse and worse the larger the diameter gets.

Im curious about it but at 4lb it has the same diameter is 10lb gamma.
