Non Boater Pfd

When fishing as a non boater, the boater is responsible for having a pfd for non boater correct? Is it usual for a non boater to have his own pfd he brings with him?

Leaving your survival in the hands of someone else is a risky proposition at best ~

I joined a club this year and while I was told I wouldn't need my own jacket (as everyone usually has an extra) I went and purchased a vest so I would be sure to always have one.

Our club requires everyone to bring their own.

I think that it is a good idea to have your own.  That being said, I generally have a couple of extra ones in the fishing truck.

I would go out and get your own.  Fishing as a co-angler this year and being prepaired with your own gear will show you are serious about being there and not expecting them to furnish you a life jacket.

I'd recommend getting your own. You never know what your boater may have.

Thanks for the opinions fellas. I was planning on getting one but I wanted to hear what others had seen/experienced.

I always stock my boat with enough pfds as people I can hold.

Lucky I only have a 14 ft. The holds 3.. but I feel it's my boat and my responsibility for the safety of those on board.

Bringing your own makes sure it fits. I have several life jackets in different sizes so I can get a good fit when wearing light or heavy jackets.

The goal is to save your life. Don't leave it up to someone else.
