Fenwick Elite Tech Spinning Rods

Featured Replies

Looking to buy the 6'10 ml model. It looks interesting and is listed as 3.38 oz weight. Anybody have any experience with this rod or another model? If so, how did you like it?

I have an Elite Tech Small Mouth MXF 6'8" and I love it. I'd say it's a little softer than a true medium but still plenty of back bone. Fenwick make some pretty sweet rods for the price imo.

I have the 6'9" medium light spinning rod and love it.

If you take the time to find them discounted online, you can't find a better rod for the money IMO

The reviews on the Fewick Elite Tech rods are well documnented on this site. Probably a half a dozen respectable members rave about them. I have 2 of the spinning rods and couldn't be happier. I am not sure if you could find more performance in a rod at that price point. I was fortunate to buy both of mine from a local shop for well under $100 per rod. I haven't the slightest idea what you want the rod for? Regardless I have fished 78 and 100 series pointers on it, drop shots, smaller shakey heads, flick shakes, 4 inch senkos, and both finesse and hair jigs. I don't care for the rod for tubes or bigger shakey heads. If you don't venture to far off from 3/8 oz with the plastics and jigs you should be fine. The 100 series pointer is the only bait I will throw on there that is a 1/2 oz.

If you are interested in the newest model I couldn't begin to tell ya.

Sorry, I should've been more clear. I was asking about the new models and not the older small mouth version. I heard great things about the small mouth versions though but I don't know if the same goes for the current series.

I have two of them, one is a smallmouth casting and the other is a walleye spinning.  Both are quality rods, the sensitivity is good but not fantastic, and they are well balanced.  I would say they are a great rods for the money.
