Dipped My Toes In The Shimano World

Featured Replies

Academy had Chronarch 50E's on sale for $149.99, but when I came back on later to buy one they were sold out. :(

So, I decided to get a Curado I!! This will be my first Shimano and I'm pretty darn excited.

You'll like it. I've owned the E series and the Bantum series. This one launches baits compared to the other two.

The Curado I was my first Shimano baitcaster to, absolutely loved it. I have a few now but I'd still really like to try one of the 50E's also but the stores around me don't stock them and I don't really want to order one until I know how it will palm.

I love my Chronarch 50e's. Phenomenal reels.

I'm sure you'll be thrilled with the Curado I.

Nice! You won't be dissapointed.

Thanks guys. To those that own a Curado I and a Chronarch 50, what is the size difference between the two?

one day ima get a chronarch 50e. love that size reel. ive got a curado I and its my new favorite reel. u will not b dissapointed.

Love the curados. Sturdy feeling with great fetures for the price. Better than the chronarch 50e but i like the 200 chronarch better.

You have now become a member of the "Shimano gang" on BR. Welcome aboard and good fishing.

The first rule of "Shimano Gang" is don't talk about "Shimano Gang"! Now who's teaching him the handshake?

Seriously I've tried a fair number of reels, several brands, but not all. For the moment I'm sold on Shimano offerings. I started with a Stadic FJ, now I have 2 of those, a Stradic CI4+, 3 Chronarch CI4+, a Curado I, and a 2013 Metanium HG. It's a sickness.

I love all my curado's ... Now I'm starting to fall for scorpions thoufh ... Japanese Step sisters are hot to me

I gotta admit, I like buying different brands and getting the best gear no matter the brand, but after using my Citica for half a year I might be a shimano guy.

I've tried several other brands, and they're good no doubt, but there's something about Shimano. They're just right. They're like that across all their products. There are 3 major bicycle component manufacturers for drivetrains, and almost everyone in the industry agrees that while each has their merit, Shimano just flat out works. Maybe not the prettiest, maybe not all the bling, maybe not the lightest, but it flat out works every...single...time.

Same with reels, they just simply perform every time.
