Any of you using the ACS reel seats?  I have been eye balling them since they became available and finally ordered some...

And now I'm sending them all back...  The finger grooves are so small that they must be sized for youth, women or the stereotypical Fuji employee.   :-?

I can't get my hand comfortable with one.  

It's a shame because it looks like a great seat.  And it looks like it would be super comfortable if you have smaller hands.

I put them on my last 3 rods, at first I didnt like them because of the back finger grip thing wasnt open, but after fishing it for sometime now, I have grown to like them and now prefer them.

I am not a rod builder, but Alpster did make one for me.  I believe it has this reel seat on it (hopefully not mistaken Ronnie  )

I love the feel of it and I am not....how should I put it.....small   at all.

It may be the fact of an uneducated hand on my part, but it feels perfectly comfortable to me.

Not sure man, PM Ronnie maybe?  LOL Obviously he will know what he used.

I remember when they first came out Karen tried to get me to use some. Told her that IMPO they tried to make the anglers hold a rod a certain way that was uncomfortable to me. The only seat I will use is ECS.

I don't care for them.  I have built several rods with them for people that do like them, but I don't.

I have built several rods on them. Carl's and Wayne's rods have the ACS seats. I am building one for myself now with one and I will give a report when I have fished with mine awhile. Being a constant reel palmer, it looks like it will be good for me. Sounds like Wayne likes his. Hey Carl, what do you think about the ACS reel seat?.

I'm a reel palmer also but I guess I hold it differently...  I dry fit up the rod I'm building with an ACS and to get my fingers to lay in the grooves, I had to adjust my grip fairly dramatically.

No loss, but I had hoped it was going to become my new favorite.

I was curious as to how many found it comfy.  

Hey Flechero,  I made a rod with one for my wife.  It was a 16 on a 5'-6" Shikarii.  She likes it and I have fished it several times and like it as well.

However - I am not looking to make another with them.

I ordered another one for my Dad's I built for Father's day.  Using an 18 on a Lamiglas XMG50.  I could not for the life of me get the "window" to look right.  So, I ordered a 16 and still could not get it the way I wanted.  I guess it's OK to have have the blank much narrower than the hole (large gap) but I just like to have a smaller gap.

I am sold on the TCSD's.

But then again, I am a total newb.
