Looking For A Particular Type Of Reel...

Featured Replies

Bait casting reel, with left hand retrieve, with bait clicker. This would be a backup reel for my round made in Sweden ambassaduer that I use for carp and or cat. the bps megacast round reel looks fabulous with the gold finish and baitclicker, but has no Left option. If you don't have any suggestions I might just get that reel. This isn't for casting and retrieving but rather casting and putting that clicker on.

Sorry -- newb quesiton here -- what doess the baitclicker do?

Bait clicker let's you know something has your bait. That way you can set it down and when you here the clicking noise you can grab your rod, engage the spool, and set the hook.

Uh, Shimano has a reel called the Cardiff that has a bait clicker on it... In a lefty..

Okuma Komodo 364 has a clicker and comes in lefty. It is a much larger reel though, more suited for big swimbaits or saltwater fishing, probably not ideal for carp, although it might be good for large catfish. Cardiff would be a great option as well, as it comes in many sizes.

abu garcia c3 or c4 with the bait clicker. great reels for soaking bait.

Take a look at an Avet, all models I believe come with left hand crank, clicker and are lever drags.  There is no level wind, but many west coasters use them for surfcasting lures.

He said as a back up reel. I wouldn't break the bank on it especially since you're primary might never crap the bed. I'd look on the auction site for a used Ambassadeur 5501 or an old Daiwa Millionaire.
