Research has been done that suggests bass can see color. As far as red goes, it's supposed to be the first color that becomes less visible with the lack of light. Blue is last. If that pertains to bass or not is not known for certain. Here is a good thread discussing how bass see color and red is discussed in the first couple pages.http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/147612-how-bass-see-color/

Id imagine itd be as simple as testing  6' diving red crankbait on a sunny day and then cloudy. couple weeks of testing would give a clear answer, and best of all, its an excuse to blow everything off and fish

They were liking this red crankbait yesterday in 52 degree water.

Did that bass bite or did you hook him with a surprise shot to the lower jaw? lol

It's hard to say but unfortunately I lost that crankbait on a big laydown today. I don't remember what brand it was but I'll have to scope around and see what resembles it.

U put a green pumpkin or black and blue bait in front of fish at a bps fish tank and nothing. Get a red colored bait in front of the glass and watch the bass go nuts. I'd say redish colored jigs, worms, cranks are some of best things to throw.

I don't know, my kid stuck his face in front of the Hawg tank at the expo, and the bass were going nuts.

Do bass bite red baits? What shade? When? No one has the answer!
