Columbus Ga Bass Fishing

Featured Replies

Went bass fishing this week at both Heath Park and Cooper Creek in Columbus, Ga. In all I caught about 14 bass. I released all the fish that I caught. I don't have a scale, but I'm sure several were over 4 lbs or more. I had a blast at both parks. I know I reached personal bests at both places. Looking for other places to fish. Trying to get into some private lakes around here as well. If you know of one please share.

I think out on Highway 315 in Harris county headed towards Talbotton I heard from a buddy that their is a private pond that charges $10 a head to fish in. I not sure how good the fishing is but he told me when we drove by there were several trucks out their, so i'm assuming its pretty decent. Its worth looking into...

By the way what were you using and what part of the ponds (Heath & Cooper Creek) were you fishing?

Im headed over to cooper creek this evening to see whats going on, I'm not sure if this mornings rain will have any affect.

I've caught bass on weightless zoom trick worms and small white spinnerbaits with rage mini craw trailers at cooper creek park. Options can be limited because of all the pond scum.

the Girlfriend just moved to columbus and ill be following in a few months.  played for a few hours at coopers creek park today. picked one good 3lb largemouth from the mouth of the creek on a hollow body frog. Intended to play with a new frog rod combo i set up and haha managed to hook up on a bass. the lake was MUUUUUDDDDYYY. is it always that muddy or just from the rain the last few days?

Mostly from the heavy rain lately I would guess

Wow lots of people from Columbus Ga.. I been catching them on the Hooch. Caught about 20 Saturday at Oliver. Haven't decided where I am headed this weekend yet. Want to go to Euf . but not sure how muddy its going to be . Frog bite should be getting good down there.

Probably won't be too bad in eufalah the hooch below West Point is daily clean still as well as Harding. The mud may make its way to eufala by the weekend but I'd expect most of it to be fairly clean still

Where is the boat ramp at lake Oliver? Been fishing the hooch at the end of the whitewater rafting area. I put in at rotary park and run up. The striper fishing has been tremendous there the last 2 trips I took there.

Ramp is right off river rd . By the north bypass.

Cool I was wondering my mother lives on the other side of the river walk in Bibb city. Never could find a ramp in that side.

Haven't been on in a while figured id just check in to see whats going on here. Looking to see if anyone interested going out on the boat with me. Usually go out on Oliver or put in on the River by the Civil War Museum. Every once in a While head up to Harding. If interested hit me up on here and well see what we can work out.

It really stinks that you cant put a boat in at Cooper Creek.  I've seen some real toads come out of that place from people that were bank fishing.  I would love to be able to put my bass hunter in there and fish it.
