Hello,

I'm becoming a fan of Live Target lures for good ideas.

I found the above and am awaiting delivery.  Seems like a good idea due to a bass's propensity for swimming through schools of baitfish.  Sort of an umbrella rig in a crankbait.

I don't know what to think about those baits. They've been very debated over since the 2013 Icast, where they won best of show. So far nobody has proved that they have a huge advantage over other crankbaits, and I'm not shelling out 16 dollars for them. They do look pretty awesome though.

I don't shell out that much either. Been paying $3-$5 on local clearances.

I doubt they catch more than, say, Rapala, but I DO love them as art. Same reason I love classic reels and custom lures.

I Think This Is One More Bait That Caught The Fishermen Than The Fish , They Are Slick Looking.

Hope You Catch Tons Of Fish On It.

I just can't buy the Live Target Bait ball because I have yet to see any reviews of them, plus they sceam of Eye candy for fisherman but I like some Live Target lures, I am sure they are quality and well built, but for $15 I can't buy the baitball lures since I have not found anyone I know who has fished them or even a review online.

I see Academy made a copy or similar lure this year, A friend of mine actually put an Eye on a Bomber Long A and then painted some fins on the sides and it kind of looked like 2 fish together but I never heard about it catching fish after seeing it....

I haven't tried them, I'm not sure if I will but the bluegill cranks, not the square bill but the regular round bill, get the BG70S, it is 1/2oz and dives to 4' on 10lb line. I should say almost 4' as it is a little bit shy of that mark but anyway. If you find those on clearance buy them up, in my waters every time the bluegill spawn, late June or early July, throwing that crank along the first drop from the spawning flat usually ends up with the bait getting hammered. They did a great job as it not only looks like a bluegill but as soon as you see it swim it looks like a bluegill.  I use the BG70S in matte finish, and that is one crankbait that has never got swiped at or pushed, it gets hit and the hits are of the utmost violent kind of hits I ever experienced with a crankbait. As I said, I'm not sold on the bait ball but the bluegill cranks are dangerous.

I'm not sold on the Baitball thing either but I do believe Live Target makes really good baits.  I don't think you can go wrong based on that alone.

Wow that's a GREAT deal! I would buy one at that price.

Hi all;
I got one of these little bad boys for Christmas and just got around to using it a couple of weeks ago.  I'm happy to report, I"ve been killing it with this crank.  First day out, 3 bass, 1 pickerel and a pike.  Second day out 5 bass, and a 5lbs pickerel.  I'm sold.

Cheers,

Perch

I can't bring myself to shell out $16 for most baits either. 10 bones is about my max. Where are you finding them for $3-5. I have yet to find a good deal on them.. I have found deals on other baits lately. Picked up KVD Squarebills, Booyah Frogs, Yum Plastics, Havoc Plastics, Sugar Stix, and Yamamoto Baits at DSG lately, which is actually giving me a reason to buy things there again. BPS has had decent deals as well. And Gander MT.

Bought a couple of the square bill's, found them on sale at DSG. buy one get the second one free.

Found me a Live Target crawdad for $5.

I snagged a dead fish with my Live Target bluegill, so I left it, with the box, at the base of a tree (still hooked to the dead fish!) as a gift for the next fisherman to come along.

It was gone when I came back.

I wonder if I'll receive a similar 'gift' in the future?

The only Live Target lure I have is one that I found while fishing.  :wink2:

Hank, find it in Indiana? :)

New here and have been lurking and learning but i have to know what "DSG" stands for. Also those baitballs hurt my eyes to look at and are entirely too expensive for me to buy.

Ya saw it snagged on a base of a tree and dived in for it! ;)

Dave Mercer had a show where he thumped SM bass on one of those baitball cranks. Other than that, I've seen nothing that would make me buy them, even on clearance.

I like the frogs. I'm very excited for this new LT bait

I have mixed feelings about this new bait. Have to see what I think of it in hand, and on the end of a line.
