Help! Lure Advice Needed.

Featured Replies

Near where I live in the middle of the city there is a very small sewage and street run off fed creek not more than 15ft wide and 3ft deep in most places in addition to being lined with trash and being polluted by raw sewage from broken pipes. As far as I know me and my friends are the only ones who fish this.

We normally go to this place when we don't have any where else to go and usually just catch little sunfish, but occasionally a small bass (.25-.75lb if that)on the little jigs we use for the sunfish. Main food source for any in there is frogs, crawfish, and baby bluegill I guess. I'm looking into something that could actually consistently produce bass. It seems the population is steadily growing as we were catching more and more all the time.

There isn't a great bite yet and I'm planning to try a small jerkbait and maybe a small topwater frog. Anyone have any advice? I'm open to absolutely anything so any advice is appreciated.

I would try small baits like in line spinners like rooster tails blue fox etc small spinner bait like booyah pond magic very small cranks maybe even crappie cranks. Luck e strike makes good ones. Also look up the ned rig hope this helps

4 inch GYCB senkos EXCEL in these type of situations.

The small sized Lunker Hunt frog, and hand sanitizer.  Raw sewage from broken pipes?  I don't think you ever have to worry about people taking your spot.

Oh, and don't eat fish out of there.  But take what you can, hope it continues to get better.

I bet twitching that mr Hankey lure around discarded tires would work well.

Size 4 Rapala x-rap, in line spinners. Basically anything you'd throw for crappie. 3" senkos. Good luck!
