Such a great idea I keep mine in the bottom of my back pack. If I grab one of them boxes I can just pull the box out fast and not dig through bags until I find what I want lol

I currently keep all my plastics in their original bags and zip tie them together and label the zip tie. But I have over 50 packs of plastics now and it's getting messy. I was thinking of making the switch to plano boxes, possibly the water tight ones with the seals.

 

I know someone mentioned the zman plastics shouldn't leave the bag, are there any others I should worry about?

Hmm I haven't seen a Plano with out the dividers! I gotta look into that too

Well I have purchased a bunch of Berkley Havoc Craws, and a few D Bomb's  for this upcoming season. Is this a good way to store them? I find it more organized then the bags and I can see the colour and style better, but will I have any problems with storing them like this? 

I've been storing my plastics just like you do for 25 years with no problems.

I have a 3-ring worm binder that weighs north of five pounds.  I have a field pack that WAS a bank-bag, but is now pretty much all soft plastics.  I have some 'never-out' plastics (Rage Bugs, Senkos, Flukes, etc.) in tackle box and a few more in gear-duffle.  I have rubbermaid drawers and tubs full in the basement. 

 

This is how I roll. One of the bags has craws and creature baits, one has swimbaits and flukes, and the other has my worms.

The box will sometimes bend your plastics if you are keeping them in a compartment that is shorter than they are, but for now I'll take the organization.

I have one 3731 full of worms and fluke style baits, the second is craws and creatures (frogs, lizards, and tubes). I also have a 3607 with all of my true finesse baits like vol flasher minnow, miki finesse miki, owner shivertail worm, and squirreltail worms. It might take an extra second to get a bait out but they're organized and I know right where they are. I would guess that between the 3 boxes I have 75+ bags. A plastic for every occasion.

That's my goal is to get my bank bag trimmed down to productivity and organization

I store them in there original package till there used. I put the used one in a zip loc bag to be reused. I even save the broken plastics too if they can be used as a trailer. Save those little senkos halves too.

They still work.

I use the Plano speed bags. I keep plastics in the original packages stored in plastic totes. I pull out what I need and put into a bag for the day. Each bag holds about 20 packs. Occasionally I'll take 2 bags.

I feel its worth mentioning that I fish from a 16" boat and bring almost all the tackle I have with me. I have a cabelas advanced angler tackle bag size magnum. It holds 16" worth of 3700 series plans and 4 3600 series boxes. There are 6 3771's that are 1.38" thick, i have one 3750 that is 2" thick and 2 of the 3731 that are 3.25" thick. So I use over 1/3rd of my space for plastics. If I were fishing from the bank or even from a kayak i would cut that back to 1/4 of all of it.

I really like these plano 4700 double decker boxes. Six of them get me through a week vacation trip. I do have some extra baits in bags that I store in a larger storage tote with a homemade duct tape divider.

This is the modified storage tote I store my bagged plastics in. It does fit in the under deck storage on the front of my 16 foot boat if needed.

Another thing, if you're worried about scent in a plano box, you can always spray in some Bang or something.

Yeah that post by Master Bait'R made me thoughtful, and I started taking out the stuff I don't use. I managed to fit my soft plastics into three bags instead of four, put 8 or 9 hardbaits into temporary storage, and fit everything into a smaller backpack. My back thanks me!

I've had it work on culprit and jethro ribbon tail worms no problem. Gets me at least the beginning of another trip out of them. I try to be as money conscious as possible I love fishing but I'm borderline cheap due To having a family and Such.

That will work. I keep my most heavily used baits in boxes, and those I use less frequently I in the original packaging in ziplock bags. I'll label those normally by bait type.

Well I bought a Plano box today and messed around with my baits some. I just couldn't get them how I wanted to be organized lol. That and the stink of gambler baits not in the sealed bags stunk my garage up instantly lol. So I'm gonna kiss ( keep it simple stupid) and put my bags in a freezer bag in my back pack lol
