The recorded history isn't quite clear when Passover started, either at the Exodus or after 40 years of wandering the desert.  At any rate it's about 3000 years old, Easter was first celebrated later in history.  Passover is observed in accordance with the Hebrew calender.

I was referring to the fact that Jesus ate the Seder just before going to the cross.  They corresponded because Jesus was the last passover lamb.  "The Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the world".
