Favorite Jerkbait

Featured Replies

I have 2 favorites, the Xcalibur xs4/EEratic shad. and the RC STX. Both work differently and are different tools for different situations.

Husky Jerk 12 in Tennessee Shad remains my top producer and thus my favorite.... in colder water.  When it warms up some, the X-Rap has been better.  But, I've caught lots on a lot of different brands including Rogues, Bombers, LC and Storm et al.   Looking forward to using the Shadow Rap soon!

The RC STX is alot like the oneten im good with tackle and I can hardly tell them apart

just caught my first jerkbait bass and was my first fish this year and caught it on the new shadow rap nice 5lber just choked it

For me, the X - Rap 10 is probably the best one I use, but the Dynamic Lures J - Spec and Travado are almost as good and sometimes better. Can't go wrong with LC Pointers in 78 and 100 sizes either.

My top 3 Are kvd, lc pointers/live pointers, and smithwicks

Anybody know anything about bomber lures jerk baits?

I haven't thrown them much since I tried LC Pointers, but have done well with Bomber suspending jerkbaits.

They cast well on baitcasting gear with 10 lb. copoly and you can buy 3 for the price of 1 Pointer.

Try 'em.

The Smithwick Super Rogue ard1200 JR. is the size you would want, the Perfect 10 is larger than standard as is the suspending super rogues...The suspending Rogue Jr. is a great shallow 0-5' jerkbait that is perfect out of the box and will only run you $5 tops.

Personal Favorite-Timmy Horton Bomber Pro Long A, Rapala Max Rap for super shallow, and XRAP or Sebile Slender Eel for eratic action and the Sebile for pressured fish since it is thin & light but flat out catches & like most Sebile lures it can do tricks.

Bomber Jerkbaits are one of the most popular Jerkbaits or Minnow baits here in Florida and the Horton Suspending Pro's with new paint is a steal, looks like a Japanese lure with the ghost patterns, comes with quality trebles, casts a mile, has the bomber roll..The long A floater 15 size is my favorite post Spawn to Fall hardbait for shallow water/topwater fishing, or waking, the 14A is great for ponds, or when baitfish are smaller, or when the bluegills are at that quarter to half dollar size...Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, I go Bomber Jerkbaits all day long....The Regular Pro Long A suspenders are good as well, however they have more of a side to side action, the Timmy Horton Pro's have a nose down vertical diving action and come ready to throw out of the box, They will catch any gamefish that swims.

Megabass 110, New Shadow Rap and I always have a boat load of Lucky Strikes.  Learned with the Lucky Strikes and refined my approach with a Megabass.  Just a way better finish and better hooks out of the package.  Jerkbaits are a BIG bass bait!

Wow, im suprised there's not much love for the spro McStick. Sweet jerkbait. The pointer and new shadow rap are also two of my favorites. I will throw a megabass when I'm feeling lucky, but I just don't have as much confidence in them. lol

I don't know that I really have a favorite since I've done well on most of the jerkbatis I've got. I do really like the Live Target Smelt jerkbaits though.
