Hey guys so I have been watching the project z webisodes, and I have become interested in some of the different z-man plastics. What are your feelings on elaztech? How is the action of baits made from this material? What are some pros and cons? Thanks!

I think they are good baits that hold up well but keep them away from your other plastic's. They will melt and not do well around other plastic's. They last longer than others!

They're fantastic unless you store them improperly- which may be more of a challenge to those in significantly warmer climates.  

I don't want even the slightest possibility of ruining my other gear. Too many restrictions.

I've had thes melt and destroy a bunch of my lures.

I'm not interested in how long it lasts.

Too many restrictions? Same restriction as I have on all my other plastics: store in the original bag. Not too tough for me. I like them, especially as trailers. My 1st LMB of the year was on a Chatterbait w/ a DieZel MinnowZ trailer.

Yeah... it's pretty simple really. If you know something melts if you take it out of the original packaging then common sense would say to leave it in there. They are a NED rig must, and work extremely well for trailers. You can't beat the durability of them. 

I like. Strike King also makes some products with elaztech. I use their finesse worms with shakeyhead jig, really like the rig, it catches bass, good hookset percentage.

Hard to beat the elaztech fitness worm for shaky heads. Heat the screw lock up with a lighter if you use that kind. You can use one or two for a whole day.

I am not sure if any of you know of this little trick!  But with Elaztech baits and on a Ned rig or a shakey heads is to pull on the plastic a number of times untill most of the salt comes out of the bait. Salt makes a bait sink and once you do this a number of times you take most of the salt out of the bait and now it will float! Now your Ned rig will stand up and not lay flat and on a shacky head that tail comes up also.

I thought Strike King finesse elaztech worms are supposed to be floaters, period? Their promo blurb says they float. Hmmm.

They are very boyuant and very durable.

I like the finnese worm real well ( trick worm )

Of course what everyone said about keeping them in the original bags is easy & proper..

Try them and you will like them. Yes, it is that simple.

Been using them for a long time.....before the warning post about them melting.  I like the punch and turbo craws, their finesse worms (both Z-man and SK since they are the same worms), like the Zinkers, both as Zinkers and on the Ned Rig.  Used to fish their 3.5" swimbaits but they discontinued them.  Don't like the Flapping Craw(stored in original packs the claws fell off and Mend-it doesn't work on this stuff).  They have their place in my arsenal but also know to store them the right way and yes they do last for quite a while. 

I use them no problems with them,like others have said its not rocket science its like chewing gum and walkin

I keep them in their original bag and store them in a separate binder from my regular plastics. Don't dip them in dye either. 

 

ZinkerZ, Palmetto BugZ, Turbo CrawZ, BatwingZ, Finesse WormZ, Finesse ShadZ, FattyZ, Hula StickZ, Diesel MinnowZ, Grass KickerZ, and the TRD all are staples of my soft plastic arsenal.

I've always gotten them on the screw no problem just by overturning the bait. They don't go on super easy but they do go on. I'll have to try that lighter trick!
