Spinnerbaits

Featured Replies

I'm looking to buy some new spinnerbaits and am wondering what your guys opinions of the best spinnerbait? I like one with a thin wire. What brand and size do you like them in? And what kind of blade? also what colors and stinger hook do you like?

War Eagle makes a very thin wire on theirs. You have to tweak it a lot, but it has been the best producer for me.

Ive used Boohyah, War Eagle, Stanley, and Revenge spinnerbaits.

Theyve all been good, but I think I favor the War Eagles over all.   The Revenge double willows I have are cool because they use slow-start willow blades.   Meaning the blades are flatter, and less concave, allowing them to spin at a much slower retrieve speed.

As far as colors go, Im experimenting with a number of different color patterns this year, just for fun, but, its hard to beat White w/Gold Willow.

wAr eagles r my favorite. although i did order a few different brands during the TW sale to try out. i like the tandem blades or double colorado.

War Eagle all blade combinations all sizes then buy spare skirts in whatever colors you want. Owner 2/0 trailer hook.

Revenge deep runner 1/2 oz in chart/white is my favorite.

Nichols all the way!!! A little more expensive, but well worth the couple extra bucks. Chartreuse and white. One double willow blades and one with one willow and one Colorado. Get one in 3/8 and one in 1/2 ounce. 4 spinnerbaits total will handle all your needs.

Old school here. Prefer Fleck. They've been around a long time and are consistent producers. Not as expensive as some, but the quality is there.

My personal favorite are still the Terminator T-1's. If I had to pick just one blade combination for bass, it'd be a Colorado/Oklahoma tandem. My favorite size are the 3/8 oz. The Oklahoma blade spinnerbaits are getting harder to find, but they have been my #1 producing spinnerbait for years.

Just got a white Terminator I ordered, love it, very well made and makes a ton of vibration/movement in the water.

Success on color patterns will vary by region. Can't beat the Booyah Golden Shiner in my opinion. Also Revenge look good in and out of the water, they really pay attention to detail. Terminators as well. Always 3/8oz - personal preference. More forgiving when you throw them for hours. Surprised to see so many people loving War Eagles. I've never had a bass interested in them, only pike.

My favorite its a Pro Clacker like no other spinnerbait made. It has been my best producer by far.

War Eagle is about the only spinnerbait brand I use.
