Featured Replies

Here is my latest jig creation. I even stuck a rattle band and rattles on it. Yup its freezin outside! I've been making all kinds of contraptions.

Great looking jig right there. Those new skirt colors are sweet.

Do you wire-tie or use a band?

very nice, however, I would move the rattles to the top.  Its been my experience that the rattles will tear off if they hit the bottom and scrape against a rock, tree limb, ect.  Other than that it looks AWESOME!

Where's mine ;)    I still suck at fishing jigs but still trying to learn.

looking good gman

on a side note do you get the little pool of powder paint near the hook eye on the poison tail alot? I used to but found a little secret if it is giving you trouble

Once in awhile.  I've been thinking about drying them the other way so it flows back not forward.  I do clean the eyelet before curing too.

Gman, nice looking jig, but if you are getting "pooling" problems with powder paint it is from heat control, try to only het your jig hot enough to hold the paint without flashing (just looks like a powder still after you pull it out of the cup)  If you get your jig to hot it will collect to much powder and cause that paint bump on there. When you are heating your jig with a torch turn (if you use a torch like I do) turn the torch down to the point it is almost going out, heat the jig till it turns to that nice shine (about 3-4 seconds for a 3/8 ounce jig) then swirl around in the paint, it shouldn't flash immediately, if it does you were to hot try holding the jig to the flame for a shorter period for your next jig!

Where is a good source for the components?

I just started making jigs, and I love that living image skirt material.  I got some and made a few jigs, now I have to order some more in larger quantities. ;)

I made up a bunch of Poison Tails with that skirt in November and the fish crushed it.  Those Living Image skirts are awesome.

Very nice Gman. I'm a big fan of black and blue colors, and of course the Poison Tail Jig.

Very nice GMAN! I've just started making my own jigs, I've got a lot to learn!! I like the Living Image skirts, those are sweet.

By the way, I've always wondered what kind of trailer is on the jig in your avatar. Is that a zoom little critter craw?
