The description on these two lines from P-Line is very similar : Fluorocarbon coated co-polymer lines ... For those that have used both - what differences in the two lines have you experienced ? Do you favor one line over the other ?

I have only used the Fluoroclear and it has worked great for me. I have a spool of the CX but I haven't used it yet. From the talks of others on here, it is also a great line. As far as the differences, I"m not quite sure what all is different other than the available colors they come in. 

Ive used both and found thAt the cx is a bit stiffer Thought about using some line treatment but after i read the thread about fluro and its false claims as soon as i respool a reel that has it on monos going back on it, heck i used it for 30 plus years and it worked just fine, i only bought the fluro this year to see what all the hype wS about and honestly other than it sinking im not impressed and ive had knots pull a few times and that never happened with mono and its not very manageable... pulled even with the "hank parker knot" i use from youtube...

Have used Floroclear for years, though less

lately since I've been using more Yo-Zuri Hybrid

(several 600 yard spools to go thru)...

 

Floroclear is a very good line, IMO, despite

some here hating it. I've not have any problems

with it from 6 to 15 pound test (as leader).

P-CXX 10 lb diameter is .014, FluoroClear 10 lb is .012, FluoroClear is a lot softer line with less memory than CXX, better knot strength than most 100% FC line of equal diameter.

It's difficult to compare line that are different diamters labeled the same lb test. CXX 10lb test is really 12 lb line, Yo-Zuri does the same, very misleading in an effort to convince anglers the is stronger...it should be!compare Sunline 10 lb Super Sniper is .010D, 14 lb is .012D, so FluoroClear isn't a small diameter Line.

If you used 14 lb Super Sniper and labeled it 10 lb test, it would a very strong FC line, that is exactly what some brands do!

I have used Floroclear for a few years. I spool with it, not just a leader. It's worked well for me. You must wet your knot well. But it's inexpensive and quality. Many disagree though. I am working through the last of my Floroclear and I'm going to try Izorline this summer. Floroclear hasn't let me down, but for the same price or less, I'd like to see if I can't improve slightly.

I asked about P-CX not P-CXX (which I'm familiar with) ... As always though Tom - I appreciate you chiming in .

The CX is good line, less memory than CXX but a little bit more than fluoroclear. The fluoroclear has more memory than most limp mono lines but it's not bad. The CX is a bit stronger though, and it's one of the best copoly lines I've used. As a bonus, you can get it in a clear blue/fluorescent color that's really good if you are a line watcher like me when fishing jigs and plastics.

I prefer cx over fluoroclear, tougher, and the blue/clear is nice if you're watching your line.

I've only used floroclear in 4lb as leader for the past few months and really like it. No complaints whatsoever and prefer it over the Cxx I had used before. At least in 4lb.

I use a double uni knot for braid to leader.  Mono to floro, I would most likely not do.  Unless the lines are small you are going to end up with a larger knot and unless the leader is short it would be rough going through the guides.  You could do it for pitching and be fine. 

I never use more than a 18 inch leader, waters round here are very stained at best,i used the double uni but found a better one on youtube but forgot the name, alot smaller

Seaguar or Albright for me. 

I use neither, and prefer CXX over any P-Line product (or most other lines, for that matter). If I want fluoro, I use InvisX or Tatsu. Fluoroclear is not a line I trust to hold up to anything.

That's what I do on my pitching setup. Hi vis mono, and a fluoro leader. Works like a charm.

I started using Floroclear and CX a month ago. Both lines do what they are supposed to. I think the Floroclear would be a better choice for a spinning reel and the CX for a casting reel.

I also use the CX as a leader with 832 braid.

Good quality Japanese made line.
