I use suspending jerkbaits. With a good pause in between small jerks. 

I haven't tried wacky yet. I typically fish ponds as well. How do you fish these senkos? 

wacky rig or weightless t-rig, cast near cover and just let it F-A-L-L.  When it hits bottom twitch it up, and let it fall again. Watch the line closely for any movement. do this a few times, if you don't get hit, cast again to a different spot.

Best jerk bait and never comes off the deck is the shadow rap. Its changes everything!

Not sure what water and air temps are there but in later summer when the weeds get thick, the frogging bite is insane! Anyone who hasn't had a smallie or largemouth blast a frog out of the water is seriously missing out! I also like taking a really small soft plastic like a SK dreamshot or Roboworm and wacky rigging it weightless. Produces really good bites!

I would recommend for better hook sets using a Gamakatsu Drop shot or finesse wide gap instead for wacky rigs. Also gives a better presentation for the bait when fishing for skittish bass.

Weightless black "horny toad" t-rigged with size 3 or 4 wide hook that exits that back (not bottom) of the frog.  Great for top water across the moss and weeds.  

 

Also 4' whacky (weightless) does the trick.  I'm most confident with the Senko Watermelon Cream color even though I read all over the place that dark purple is the best... 

T-rig gets hung up to much unless I just reel. Haven't caught anything with a weightless lizard.

Try a Trick Worm weightless and fish it like a jerkbait with the twitch-twitch-pause retrieve.
