I know how to catch catfish, but I would like to know how to catch huge catfish.(gear, bait) I fish for catfish in high current rivers and I use flat waits to keep my bait in the spot I choose. I usually use live or dead chubs or bluegill

I'm no expert, but from what I've heard big bluegill work great. Not sure about gear though

Are you fishing for blues or flats? You can accidentally catch one while fishing for the other, but you'll be much better off targeting one or the other. 

Fishing a huge bait in strong current from bank  is darn near impossible to  keep in place. I  look for a deep eddy to drop the bait into or fish close to shore. 

I use to buy the cheapest hot dogs I could find and cut a nice sized chunk and throw it on a hook.. or go with chicken livers
