How do you guys fish finesse worms?  I got a pack and I really have no idea what to do with them.  

If you're talking something like Zoom's Finesse 

Worms, then you can fish them any number of 

ways.

 

1) Carolina

2) Mojo

3) Jika

4) Wacky

5) Texas

6) Split shot

7) Drop shot

8) etc....

 

For me, I fish them wacky on spinning gear

quite often.

I'll list the proven techniques in order of my personal preference.

1) Stand Up JigHead

2) Shakey Head Jig

3) T-Rigged weightless

Do you use it like a swim bait or something with those rigs?  I'm pretty familiar with wacky and texas, but I guess I don't know where else I'd use some of those others, or if there is something different finesse worms do that stick baits don't?

If your in an area with very clear water and you need to downsize due to spooky fish or there in a negitive mood, or an area with very high fishing pressure, you may want to give them a try.  If these are not factors for you, then i would not consider them a great option.

I use Zoom Finesse worms in various colors. I use baitcasting 10lb. line and spinning 8lb. line. Tru Turn hooks, 1.0. Weightless and Texas rigged depending on conditions. Weights 1/8 down to 1/32 oz. When the bite is slow or fast, great presentation to have in your quiver.

I got a pack of Zman finesse wormZ  7"

 

They honestly look like a great bait, I just don't know if I should be fishing these wacky rig like I do my stick baits, or I should be trying to work them in the water a certain way.  I don't really want to do anything too complicated. 

 

I'm mostly fishing fairly shallow ponds, but I also sometimes get to fish a lake that has a huge drop off next to lily pads all the way around the lake.

Like others have told you, finesse worm fishing is no different than other worm fishing except you are normally using downsize line and rod. 90% of my finesse worm fishing is done on a shaky head, and I normally use finesse worms from 4.5" to 6" with 4.5" and 5" being the main size of finesse worm. I use a medium power spinning rod with a fast action and 8lb line to fish most of my shaky heads which are normally between 1/16oz and 1/4oz with 1/8oz being what I use most. Another good way to use them is on a drop shot rig as well as a split shot or mojo rig which are like a finesse Carolina rig, lots of videos on finesse worms on you tube, check some out.

This 7" straight tail worm is a trick worm that you can use on a shaky head jig, a sliding sinker T-rig or finesse C-rig.

I mostly use them for split shot, mojo, and carolina rigs but also drop shotting. I'm not much of a shakyhead guy but they are great for that too. The bigger ones like a Trick Worm are great fished weightless as a floating worm.
