Wichitan Fisherman

Featured Replies

Hello all, lifelong fisherman from Kansas here. Used to mainly chase catfish and crappie but needed a new challenge/ reason to buy more tackle and hopefully soon a kayak. Not having a whole lot of luck yet but the urban lakes and ponds are extremely overfished so planning some trips to some state fishing lakes and back home to Cross Timbers, Woodson, Fall River, and Eureka. Right now Mcpherson, Butler are at the top of my list as they are closer.

Been fishing lots of creature baits, some jigs, small crankbaits, and small spinnerbaits. Hard to put something new in front of fish that have seen it all, thinking about some bigger swimbaits, I dunno.

Welcome to BR BigD!

Welcome to the board. I've been in the same situation you are in. Lunch break and grab a rod only to find a a couple of others already at my spots and hearing that other have already fishing them before in the early morning. It's hard when the fish are so pressured.
